AOM in the US, written cooperatively by the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine http://www.aaaomonline.org/">(AAAOM) and the Society for Acupuncture Research (SAR), was published in Volume 47 (March 31, 2009) of The American Acupuncturist. The American Acupuncturist is the official publication of the AAAOM, published quarterly. The journal features a wide variety of academic and political articles informing--and focused on--the Oriental Medicine professional. Topics vary from new techniques and treatments to updates on important legislation and reports from various AAAOM committees. AOM in the US, presents the status and background on the field of acupuncture as it relates to traditional Chinese medicine and, in addition, provides information on the safety and cost-effectiveness of this intervention as well as the education and entry level requirements for the AOM profession.
